SENIOR Electrical systems engineer

We are currently looking for an electrical engineer with hardware and firmware experience to help our team to develop new electrical systems from concept through production launch.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate effectively with internal mechanical engineering, industrial designers, and marketing team managers as well as client contracts across all departments.
  • Design products and systems while meeting project schedule and budget milestones.
  • Create systems, hardware and software architectures based on the client’s requirements.
  • Manage mid-sized to large electrical systems projects and cross-functional teams from concept to production.
  • Develop concepts and design specifications and present them in design reviews.
  • Participate in other project design reviews and provide design feedback for other team members.
  • Assist business development team with sales activities including sales calls, client communications, project budget estimating, proposal writing and closing of contracts.
  • Contact with clients on various technical and project management topics.

Qualifications

  • BSEE degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited institution preferred.
  • Minimum of 7 years’ experience in design and development of new electrical hardware and firmware.
  • Experience designing and developing new electrical hardware, firmware, and software in an environment focused on the development of new products and systems.
  • Solid understanding of analog and digital systems, including control and sensor systems.
  • Design new electrical hardware including custom PCBs, power management components (AC/DC), displays, etc.
  • Board design and schematic capture experience a plus (Altium preferred)
  • Experience developing new firmware and software.
  • Ideal candidate has extensive experience and technical knowledge in the field of electrical system design from concept to production, including some of the following areas: control systems, power, motor controls, various microprocessor platforms, battery management, WiFi, Bluetooth, firmware, embedded systems, displays, sensors, and common software applications.
  • Fast learner with the ability to navigate new technologies.

  • Layout new system architectures that meet product requirements.
  • Experience with submitting a product for compliance testing a definite plus (FCC, UL, CE)
  • Oversee fabrication, assembly, integration, and debugging of rapid prototypes using various hardware platforms (custom PCBs, Arduino kits, Raspberry Pi, Beagle Bone, etc.).
  • Develop system / functional requirements and specifications.
  • Strong experience in rapid prototype hardware development and iteration.
  • Experience writing firmware.
  • Design of FPGA algorithms and code a plus.
  • Excellent troubleshooting and diagnostic skills a plus.

SENIOR Project engineer – mechanical

We are seeking an experienced senior mechanical project engineer who will lead concurrent mechanical and electro-mechanical product programs involving new industrial, medical and consumer products anywhere between initial concept and production launch. 

Ideal candidates are talented, innovative and hard-working individuals who prefer to work at a faster pace in an environment where they’ll see a mix of project management and hands-on engineering design work.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the engineering design and development of new consumer products, industrial equipment, and medical devices.
  • Project management including the coordination and management of all project activities, budgets, deliverables, deadlines, and team members.
  • Lead client contact on technical and project management issues in a consulting environment.
  • Assists business development managers with sales efforts including proposal writing, budgeting for mechanical engineering projects, and client sales communications.
  • Coordinate project work with project teams including members of our internal technical staff, outside contractors, and client team members.
  • Perform hands-on engineering design work including conceptual design (ideation and brainstorming), calculations, CAD work, tolerance stack-up analysis, problem solving, prototype fabrication, testing, FMEA, DFMA, decision making, risk analysis, etc.

Qualifications

  • BSME or advanced degree from an accredited institution.
  • 7 years minimum of design engineering experience (preferably 10+ years) 
  • Proven project management experience successfully managing medium-to-large scale projects through to production and market launch.
  • Knowledge of all common manufacturing processes such as injection molding, die casting, investment casting, machining, stamping, sheet metal, etc.
  • Proven analytical skills, innovative thinking, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Computer literate with working knowledge of Microsoft business software (Word, Excel, Project, Windows, etc.).
  • Excellent communications and interpersonal skills.
  • Experience designing products using Creo (Pro/ENGINEER) or SolidWorks software.
  • Knowledge of electrical systems including the Arduino and Raspberry Pi prototype platforms would be a plus.
  • Engineering consulting experience would be a plus.

Industrial designer

Design Integrity is searching for an experienced industrial designer to join its in-house design team. Our client list is continually expanding; come join a growing creative team that is building a portfolio of compelling, advanced products.

Responsibilities:

 At Design Integrity we value the diverse, complementary skills, strengths, and perspectives of our award-winning creative team. We strive to create innovative, user-centered solutions to meet client objectives.

 The industrial design team is primarily responsible for developing insightful solutions to meet client objectives. Each project entails an empathetical understanding of the target demographic, along with an inquisitive and creative assessment of function and form based on user interaction with a product or service.

Develop and document conceptual direction with a mix of sketching, technical illustration, 2D & 3D renderings, foam models, 3D CAD modeling and printing, and fabricated appearance / working models. Creative exploration utilizing other tools and processes is encouraged where warranted. Design proposal stages are reviewed as part of a sequential process to obtain cross-functional consensus.

Design team members are responsible for managing design solutions through to the point of production. This includes monitoring schedule, cost, and performance alternatives related to proposed material, manufacturing method, and assembly procedures. In addition, the designer creates specifications detailing CMFL requirements aligned with brand VBL requirements.

Collaborative engagement with cross-functional engineering and project management teams is an essential process element at Design Integrity. The industrial design team participates in project meetings and plays a leading role in conceptual presentations with partners and clients.

Qualifications and Requirements

 Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university, with a major in industrial design.

  • Minimum of 4 years professional experience designing in a product development environment. Preference for experience with a mix of commercial and consumer products.
  • Take a collaborative approach on research projects and participate to develop key insights that translate into design solutions.
  • A portfolio that demonstrates strategic thinking and the ability to translate research insights into compelling ideas. Proficient communication of process through visual thinking, mock-ups, sketching, 2D and 3D rendering and 3D CAD modeling.
  • Demonstrated skill with Adobe CC (Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign) and digital rendering using Sketchbook Pro or similar.
  • Knowledge of common manufacturing processes such as injection molding, machining, casting, rapid prototyping, traditional ID prototyping methods, stamping, etc.
  • Effectively communicate product design intent to ensure design language is maintained throughout the entire product development cycle.
  • Strong interpersonal, writing, and verbal communication skills
  • Experience with UX/UI development is beneficial but not required.
