SENIOR Project engineer – mechanical
We are seeking an experienced senior mechanical project engineer who will lead concurrent mechanical and electro-mechanical product programs involving new industrial, medical and consumer products anywhere between initial concept and production launch.
Ideal candidates are talented, innovative and hard-working individuals who prefer to work at a faster pace in an environment where they’ll see a mix of project management and hands-on engineering design work.
Responsibilities
- Manage the engineering design and development of new consumer products, industrial equipment, and medical devices.
- Project management including the coordination and management of all project activities, budgets, deliverables, deadlines, and team members.
- Lead client contact on technical and project management issues in a consulting environment.
- Assists business development managers with sales efforts including proposal writing, budgeting for mechanical engineering projects, and client sales communications.
- Coordinate project work with project teams including members of our internal technical staff, outside contractors, and client team members.
- Perform hands-on engineering design work including conceptual design (ideation and brainstorming), calculations, CAD work, tolerance stack-up analysis, problem solving, prototype fabrication, testing, FMEA, DFMA, decision making, risk analysis, etc.
Qualifications
- BSME or advanced degree from an accredited institution.
- 7 years minimum of design engineering experience (preferably 10+ years)
- Proven project management experience successfully managing medium-to-large scale projects through to production and market launch.
- Knowledge of all common manufacturing processes such as injection molding, die casting, investment casting, machining, stamping, sheet metal, etc.
- Proven analytical skills, innovative thinking, and problem-solving abilities.
- Computer literate with working knowledge of Microsoft business software (Word, Excel, Project, Windows, etc.).
- Excellent communications and interpersonal skills.
- Experience designing products using Creo (Pro/ENGINEER) or SolidWorks software.
- Knowledge of electrical systems including the Arduino and Raspberry Pi prototype platforms would be a plus.
- Engineering consulting experience would be a plus.
